*** RELEASE NOTES ***

Orqa is pleased to announce the release of FPV.One Firmware v.2.7.1.

Anyone that is currently on FW 2.5.1 or above can do the update normally via SD card or the FPV.Connect (step 3).

All users who are currently on earlier versions (1.2.0 - 2.4.1) need to follow the instructions containing the ORQA_update.bin file (step 4).

If you are on a version below 1.2.0, you first need to update the goggles to 1.2.0 and then go to the newest FW by following the instructions containing the ORQA_update.bin file.

This release is compatible with FPV.One hardware v.1.0.0. and v.1.0.1.

Users that have the FPV.Connect WiFi module can use the Orqa FPV.Connect Mobile App to automatically download the Firmware update file and update their goggles over the air.

(1) BUG FIXES

*************

List of bugs fixed in this release:

- fixed bug where DVR will sometimes freeze goggles.

==================

IMPORTANT WARNING:

==================

1. After the goggles reset automatically, In order to finalize the update you need to turn off the goggles manually by pressing the power button. If you just plug out the battery (without pressing the power button to shut the goggles off), goggles will go into boot mode and you will have to update them again with SDcard.

2. Using DVR recording while LiveStreaming can still freeze the goggles in case of a video signal loss. You will still be able to view live VRx feed on the screen, but the buttons will stop working, and you will need to unplug the battery to recover the goggles.

If you are using both DVR record and LiveStreaming function at the same time, make sure you don't turn off your quad before turning off the DVR or LiveStream because the video signal loss will cause control buttons to stop working.

Alternatively, the firmware can be upgraded by using the desired version of the firmware file (*.orqa) as described below:

(1) Download the update file (*.orqa) and save it to the root of a micro SD card.

(2) Make sure your battery is fully charged; the update will not start if the voltage is below 7.2V.

(3) Power down the goggles.

(4) Insert the micro SD card with the update file into the slot located at the faceplate.

(5) Power on the goggles and wait for the system to install the new firmware. The progress bar is displayed on screen.

(6) After the firmware is updated the goggles will restart automatically. This process can take up to a couple of minutes, depending on the size of the update.

(7) After the firmware update has finished the system will delete the firmware update file from the micro SD card.

(8) After the goggles reset automatically, In order to finalize the update you need to turn off the goggles manually by pressing the power button. If you just plug out the battery (without pressing the power button to shut the goggles off), goggles will go into boot mode and you will have to update them again with SDcard.

(4) INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATE VIA BIN FILE (ORQA_update.bin)

******************************************************************************

Make sure your battery is sufficiently  charged and we advise to disconnect everything else from the goggles (rapidFIRE, FPV.Connect, etc.) as a safety precaution.

(1) Format your SD card – you can use the default format if you are on Windows (if you are on Mac, use exFAT).

(2) Create a folder named “FW” on the root of your SD card and put the .bin file inside that folder

(3) Put the FPV1_V271.orqa file on the root of the SD card (outside of FW folder).

(4) Put the SD card inside the goggles and turn them on.

There should be some “weird” sounds (long beep – 3 short beeps – long beep) and you should see a red-white-blue message on the screen. After approximately 30 seconds, you should be on the progress bar screen.

(5) If the update was successful, the goggles will shut down automatically (not restart), then you can remove the SD card and format it again.

If all went well, your goggles should be ready.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: when you power on your goggles for the first time after the update, you need to turn them off manually by pressing the power button).
